Grants
Opportunity Knox
Opportunity Knox is a small grants program that supports women impacted by domestic abuse who are experiencing financial hardship or facing barriers associated with the costs of gaining and sustaining education or employment.
Some of the ways the grants have helped recipients and their families is:
• To pay for their children’s school uniforms
• To purchase a laptop so they can study
• To pay for exam fees
• To pay for a first-aid certificate to re-enter the workforce
-
These grants can support the costs associated with education and accessing or sustaining employment. Grants of up to $500 are available over a 2 year period to those families who are connected to a domestic and family violence service.
-
To be eligible for an Opportunity Knox grant you are required to have a needs assessment (inclusive of income assessment) and a completed application from a domestic abuse support worker.
We are unable to accept self referrals, this means a support worker needs to present the application to us.
If you are applying for reasons to support for your own education, or those of children, you will need to provide proof of enrolment.
Your support worker can download the Opportunity Knox Guidelines and Application Form below or contact The Zahra Foundation Office via email at admin@zahrafoundation.org.au or phone 08 8352 1889.
