Our Mission

Every woman in Australia impacted by domestic abuse is economically empowered and safe.

Our Strategic Pillars

Creating Opportunities

As an employer of choice, we create opportunities for those facing barriers to employment to join our team. We will value, nurture, and empower volunteers as leaders, advocates, and drivers of change, supporting the delivery of our mission.

Creating Safe & Economically Empowered Futures

Providing trauma and violence-informed services through financial counselling and group education programs. These initiatives aim to empower women to rebuild their lives after leaving domestic abuse situations, acting as both preventive and responsive measures.

Creating Change Through Collective Impact

The Zahra Foundation works within a collective impact model that pools resources and expertise by partnering with organisations that are aligned with our strategy and mission. Some of the ways we are achieving a collaborative approach is by co-locating our programs and services with industry partners, working on collaborative projects and initiatives, hosting changemaker events nationwide and utilising campaigns, advocacy and policy influence.

Creating Access

We will work towards being able to provide access to women who require our services across Australia into our programs when they need them for as long as they need them.

Our strategy is built upon a foundation of comprehensive elements designed to inform our actions and achieve our mission.
