This year’s theme, March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls, calls for collective action to empower the next generation—especially young women—as catalysts for lasting change.

Economic insecurity is one of the biggest barriers preventing women from leaving abusive relationships. On average, it takes seven attempts for a woman to leave due to fears of poverty or homelessness. Over 100,000 Australians today are homeless due to domestic violence.
